Air Fryer New York Strip Steak
You can’t beat the rich beefy flavor and satisfying bite of a New York strip steak - unless it’s an air fryer New York strip steak! Air frying New York steak caramelizes the outside while keeping the inside tender and juicy for a taste and texture you can’t get any other way.
15 Minute Total Time, Serves 2-4
Section 1: Ingredients
1 Tablespoon grapeseed oil or canola oil
1 large clove garlic, grated
1 teaspoon paprika
½ teaspoon chili powder
Salt to taste
1 pound boneless New York strip steak
Tools:
Air Fryer
Instant Meat Thermometer
For Serving:
3 cups cooked rice, any kind
Section 2: Directions
Prep Work
Preheat the air fryer to 400ºF for 5 minutes.
Mix the oil, garlic, paprika, chili powder, and salt in a small bowl. Brush or rub the mixture on all sides of the steak.
Place the New York strip steak in the air fryer basket and cook to 400ºF for 5 minutes on each side or until an instant meat thermometer registers 135ºF for medium rare.
130-135°F for medium-rare
135-145°F for medium
145-155°F for medium-well
155°F and above for well done
Transfer to a clean cutting board and let it rest for 5-10 minutes. Slice the steak against the grain and serve. Enjoy!
Skillet Seared New York Strip Steak
Skillet seared New York Steak is one of the best steaks you’ll ever have! It’s tender, juicy and full of flavor!
Total Time: 15 minutes. 2 Servings
Section 1: Ingredients
2 New York Steak Strips
Salt and Pepper
2 Tablespoons olive oil
8 garlic cloves smashed
1/2 cup butter
Fresh rosemary and thyme sprigs
Section 2: Directions
Let the steaks rest for 30 minutes to come to room temperature. Salt and pepper to taste.
In a medium sized skillet over medium high heat at the olive oil. Once it starts to smoke add the steaks to the skillet. Sear on all of the sides until they have a golden brown crust. Add the butter and let melt in the skillet. Add in the garlic and fresh sprigs.
Reduce the heat to medium and let them cook until they reach the desired internal temperature. Spoon the butter over the steaks while they are cooking.
You can also finish the steaks off in the oven. Once you sear each side put the steaks in the oven at 425 degrees and cook until they reach the desired internal temperature.
Parmesan Crusted Steaks:
Juicy and tender steaks topped with a thick parmesan crust. Elegant and delicious!
Total Time: 15 minutes. 2 Servings
Section 1: Ingredients
2 steaks , (ribeye, new york strip, top sirloin, filet mignon, etc.)
Salt and Pepper, to taste
1 teaspoon olive oil For the crust:
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup panko bread crumbs
1 cup parmesan cheese, grated
1/4 cup mayo
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp dried parsley flakes, or 1/2 tsp fresh
1/2 tsp garlic powder
Worcestershire sauce
Section 2: Directions
Place top oven rack about 4 or 5 inches from top broiler. Turn top broiler on. Season steaks liberally with salt and pepper, set aside.
Combine all the ingredients for the crust topping in a food processor and pulse until ingredients come together. Set aside. Heat a cast iron (or oven safe) skillet over medium high heat, add 1 tsp of olive oil to the pan and heat until it starts to smoke, swirl the oil around to coat skillet.
Reduce heat to medium and place steaks in pan. Do not disturb the steaks for 1 minute.
Flip steaks over and let sit for an additional minute.*
Remove pan from heat and smear a couple tablespoons of the parmesan mixture over the top of the steaks. Place under the broiler for 2 minutes or until the tops are lightly golden brown. Remove from oven and enjoy immediately.
Notes
*Keep in mind that the steaks will continue cooking under the broiler, so sear the steaks to a little less than your desired doneness.
