Home Made Beef Brisket


  • 4-5 lbs beef brisket

  • 2 tbsp brown sugar

  • 1 tbsp paprika

  • 1 tbsp garlic powder

  • 1 tbsp onion powder

  • 1 tbsp salt

  • 1 tsp black pepper

  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper

  • 2 cups beef broth

  • BBQ sauce (optional)


  • Preheat oven to 325°F.

  • In a small bowl, mix together brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.

  • Rub the spice mixture onto the beef brisket.

  • Place the brisket in a roasting pan and pour beef broth over it.

  • Cover the pan with foil and bake for 3-4 hours, or until the brisket is tender.

  • Remove the foil and baste the brisket with the pan juices.

  • Return the brisket to the oven and bake, uncovered, for an additional 30 minutes.

  • Let the brisket rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing.

  • Serve with BBQ sauce, if desired. Enjoy!
